  Nice setting, but will not be coming back again - the food took ages to be served... all 4 plates eventually arrived at different times - I literally had to go and chase my steak! 2 of the 4 meals not edible and without extras that were ordered.... only saving grace was the steak was worth the wait. Would advise to keep walking.

  Worst tapas I have ever had anywhere in the world. Low grade produce cooked badly - even the pizza my wife ordered was rubbery and undercooked.. Avoid at all costs!

  Accidentally left my £170 Raybans behind and came back the next day and they handed them back to me! Also the food was good, a nice 21st birthday Meal

  My husband and I are long time residents in Nerja and eat out a lot, summer and winter.. We do tend to have our favourites, but thought we'd try El Candil for a change. Food was fine, also service, but the menus we were given were disgusting. Dirty and scraggy, to the point that we didn't want to touch them, and had to wash our hands before we could think of eating. Most Nerja restaurants use the quiet winter months to commission new menus, but these looked as though they had been on the go forever. We did mention this to the waiter, and he said they had new ones on order, but it should have been done long before the summer season started.. Black mark El Candil, creates a very bad impression
